My name is Theresa Hornhofer, and I’m the artist behind Art by Theresa. I've been painting throughout my life, but only recently returned to it as an essential creative outlet alongside my day job in the energy industry.

I'm an expressive abstract artist. While I used to focus on realism, I've embraced a freer, more intuitive approach — creating without overthinking and letting the process guide me.

Inspiration is everywhere. I have a keen eye for detail — whether it’s light filtering through leaves or ocean waves splashing a sailboat's hull. Using texture, markings, and carefully balanced colors, I capture the emotions behind those moments.

I am calm and soft spoken, yet drawn to bold adventures like backcountry skiing, sailing, and off-roading through deserts: Craving the quiet and solitude of my studio just as much as thriving in the wild unpredictability of nature. In my art I hope to capture that same duality — surprising people, with its expressive energy and emotional depth.
